Mobile devices – opening links
Recently, a client was having trouble with links opening on a mobile device in a useful manner. The pages were either not rendering correctly, or erroneously displaying ‘page not found’. In this case, it happened to be a Facebook page that wasn’t handling being logged out very well – a Facebook problem, not the client’s.
A workaround for this might be to request that the link be opened as a ‘Desktop site’ instead of the default ‘mobile view’. This is accessed from the settings for the web page, from the three vertical dots (top of the page on Chrome, bottom on Firefox). This also works on Safari (iOS/Apple devices), just from a different spot.
